When this correspondent spoke to US Embassy Spokesperson Robert Raines, he said: "We have been engaging with the Pakistani government on the full scope of parliamentary recommendations in a way that recognises their concerns. The fact is that this is a relationship based on mutual interest and shared commitments. We have had good discussions in this regard and will continue our dialogue. In this context, the US is committed to addressing Pakistan's CSF claims, but our conversations are (still) going on."
On the question about areas where this money would be disbursed, Robert Raines said: "As for how the money is to be spent, these funds are intended to be reimbursed to Pakistan for expenditures it has made".
On the other hand, federal Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh has already claimed that the Pakistan-US relations were at a delicate stage and negotiations between Pakistan and US on various issues, including CSF, were in progress.
