According to the minister, the government will take action against the former President in accordance with the prevailing law. Answering a question on memo gate scandal, Malik said that if Mansoor Ijaz wanted to come to Pakistan the government would issue him a visa, but not without a passport.
Addressing the President of PML(N) Nawaz Sharif, the minister said that if he wanted to invite Mansoor Ijaz as a guest to Raiwind, the government would provide him full security. He asked Nawaz Sharif to recall the days when he as chief minister of Punjab used to sit with Ijaz. According to him, Ijaz promised Nawaz to invest in Pakistan.
He also asked Sharif why in the last days of every democratic government Ijaz took credit of destabilising the democratic system. Answering a question regarding threats to Pakistan former Ambassador to America Husain Haqqani, Malik said the former envoy had no threat from the ISI.
