The government on Friday night raised the petrol price by Rs 4.15 per litre, diesel by Rs 1.51 per litre and HOBC by Rs 2.72 per litre. The rates of kerosene and Light Diesel Oil have been kept unchanged. According to a notification issued by the Ogra here, after this increase, petrol will now be available at Rs 88.95 per litre against Rs 84.80 per litre, HOBC at Rs 112.65 per litre against Rs 109.93 per litre, diesel at Rs 94 against Rs 92.64 per litre.

Kerosene and LDO will be available at old rates of Rs 92.64 and Rs 83.52 per litre, respectively. The Ogra (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) has increased the prices of High Speed Diesel by Rs 0.54 per litre to Rs 92.64 per litre and HOBC (High Octane Blending Content) by Rs 2.13 per litre to Rs 109.93 per litre.

Earlier, it was decided in the ECC meeting that the increase in dealers' commission and OMCs margin would be implemented in three phases. Therefore, in the second phase the government has increased dealers' margin on petrol by 0.16 per litre and on HSD by Rs 0.23 per litre, while in the first phase it was increased by Rs 0.41 per litre on petrol and Rs 0.70 per litre on diesel.
