Pakistan Army in order to further beef up the ongoing efforts by civil administration in control and eradication of outbreak of deadly Dengue epidemic in Lahore City and its surroundings has established a separate 100-bed ward at CMH Lahore. The affected civil patients will be provided free medical treatment.

Pakistan Army as part of its stepped up campaign against the raging epidemic has also established eleven free medical screening and diagnostic camps at surrounding areas of Lahore Cantonment exclusively for civil population affected by this tropical disease. A team of specialist doctors of Army Medical Corps will be available from 08:00am to 05:00pm at these free medical camps established at Bedian Road, Garrison Health Centre Cavalry Ground, Near Khalid Mosque, Mehfoozpura near Ghazi Grid Station, Cantonment General Hospital, Saddar, Askari-X, Zarrar Shaheed Road and Masjid Chowk DHA Phase-1, Beacon House School DHA Phase-3, Commercial area DHA Phase-5.

Besides, mobile medical teams of Army paramedical staff have also been assigned to visit suburbs of Lahore Cantonment to facilitate minor treatment of infected patients at their doorstep. The facility to support the general public in this hour of need will be further enhanced on required basis.

The Cantonment authorities and DHA administration has been instructed to be proactive by undertaking extensive preventive and precautionary measures by ensuring fumigation of anti-dengue pesticides on war footing to destroy breeding areas of the killer virus.
