Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI) President Senator Ghulam Ali inked the document on behalf of the Pakistan Government, while Tatyana Zhdanova, Vice President Chamber of Commerce and Industry represented the Kazakh side.
The agreement aims at promoting market research, developing commercial relations and expanding projects between the two countries that will promote trade and enhance economic and technical co-operation. Later, FPCCI President Senator Ghulam Ali told newsmen that the agreement signed between Pakistan and Kazakhstan would encourage regular exchange of their business delegations which would remove the hurdles in bilateral trade.
He said the interaction of businessmen would also pave way to start negotiations on relaxing visa regime for the promotion of bilateral trade. He said there was a need to exploit potential of trade between Pakistan and Kazakhstan which was not up to the mark at present and expressed the hope that the agreement would prove a positive step in increasing the level of existing trade.
The signing ceremony was attended by Minister for Production Anwar Ali Cheema, Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khosa, Senator Ghulam Ali (JUI), MNA Qamar Zaman Kaira, Secretary Defence Lieutenant General (Retd) Syed Athar Ali, Ambassador Akhtar Tufail and businessman Faisal Ahmad.
