Following the killings of the five Baloch, the old city areas came under an intense wave of violence where miscreants hurled a dozen of grenades and nine rockets at Bheampura area that left three persons dead and two others injured. Police and eye-witnesses said members of one of the groups of gangsters in Lyari, who took positions on rooftops of Umer building, Ramadan building and Anwar Baloch building, fired nine rockets at Salar compound and Aqaal Bhonga compound that left three persons dead and two others injured.
A rickshaw and a private vehicle (ATM-802) were destroyed by their attacks. All commercial and social activities came to standstill in these areas. This incident was the third of its nature when miscreants took positions on rooftops and fired rockets and grenades in the areas. Earlier, at least seven other persons including five belonged to Baloch community fell prey to targeted killings spree in various parts of the metropolis on Wednesday.
Three bodies were found in gunny bags in the limits of Ferozabad police station. Two bodies, which were identified as Kamran, 26 son of Behram and 25-year-old Shahnawaz son of Mulla Baksh, were found near Rehmania Masjid Tariq Road while one more bullet-riddled body of 25-year-old Saqib, son of Abdul Ghani, was recovered from PECHS block II. Police said all the three victims, who were friends and residents of Sango-lane Sarbazi Mohalla, were kidnapped when they went out for shopping on Tuesday night. They said all of them received multiple bullet wounds on their heads. A case (590/11) was registered on the compliant of Kamran's brother Imran.
Yet another bullet-riddled body of a youth was found at Garden near old telephone exchange at water hydrant. The victim was identified as Irfan, 23 son of Mir Hammal Baloch, a resident of Mira Nakka, Chakiwara. Police said Irfan, who received single bullet on his head, was missing since Tuesday night when he went out for dinner with his friends. An FIR (165/11) was lodged on the complaint of victim's brother Asif.
A body of 24-year-old Nadir, son of Ghulam Nabi Baloch, who was shot dead by unknown culprits, was recovered near Hashoo Centre in the jurisdiction of Preedy police station. An unknown body, who appeared to be Pushtu speaking, was recovered at Korangi Industrial Area. Police registered a case (797/11) against unidentified culprits on the compliant of state and initiated the probe.
The funeral prayers of the five Baloch were offered at Football house near Usman Park and later the inhabitants of Lyari took to streets and staged a protest demonstration against the killings. The protesters marched up to the CM house where they chanted slogans against the increasing incident of lawlessness. Later, they peacefully dispersed.
