New Chief Secretary Sindh, Raja Muhammad Abbas, has assumed the charge of office, an announcement to this effect was made in a statement here on Monday. Abdus Subhan Memon, who was holding the acting charge of Chief Secretary, handed over the charge. Raja Abbas is the 51st CS since creation of Sindh in 1936 and he is the 33rd Chief Secretary after abolition of one unit in 1970.

It may be mentioned that Raja Abbas had also served the Sindh province during 2000-04. In August 2000, he was for the first time posted to Sindh as Managing Director Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority (KFHA). Before his new assignment, Raja Muhammad Abbas was the Federal Secretary Housing and Works.
