The Rangers personnel at Benazir Park on Wednesday have gunned down an alleged robber, who was the brother of the reporter of a private TV channel. Almost all of the private TV channels telecast the footage showing scenes of the shooting of the unarmed youth by the Rangers personnel. Earlier, the Rangers claimed that the victim was a robber and held a family hostage at the park for robbery.

Media representatives staged a sit-in at Chief Minister's House along with the body of Sarfaraz against the killing. The deceased was the brother of the reporter of a private TV channel. The protesting journalists demanded registration of an FIR against Rangers. The protest was continuing till filing of this report. The TV channels reported that the Rangers personnel, who shot the youth, had been arrested.
