He said this in response to a question by a senior civil servant of the 94th national management course who quoted private sources that Dr Singh was personally spearheading for developing good relations with Pakistan. He said Dr Singh, 78, who hails from Punjab, was highly desirous of resolving the important issues including Kashmir, Siachen and Sir Creek.
He said the Indian prime minister also expressed his views on many times to fight the common enemies of poverty, hunger and unemployment. The Prime Minister said that he had met Dr Singh four times officially - in Colombo in 2008, Sharm El Sheikh 2009, Bhutan 2010 and India 2011, while unofficially he met several times on different occasions.
