President Asif Ali Zardari Wednesday on the advice of the Prime Minister has approved the composition of National Economic Council (NEC) under 18th Constitutional Amendment. The new composition of NEC consists of Prime Minister as the Chairman of the Council whereas ministers for Finance, Communication, Health and Housing & Works would be the members representing the Federation.

Chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan will also be the members of the Council. The other members from provinces include Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar from Punjab, Advisor to CM P&D department from Sindh, Senior Minister for P&D and Power from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Finance Minister Balochistan and Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan. In addition to the above, Governor Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa, Prime Minister AJ&K and Chief Secretary AJ&K would be invited by special invitation.-PR
