Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that President Zardari should show some sense and not take such decisions as appointment of Deedar Shah as chairman NAB. He said, "If such appointments continued to be made we will be forced to conduct a long march". This was revealed in information of DGPR received here Sunday.

Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating Watan Cards programme in Khushab during the day the Chief Minister said that Muslim League-N opposed this decision and would continue to do so. He said that he had no personal grudge against Deedar Shah but the matter was of justice and bringing back the money looted from the country whether this money was of Swiss bank accounts, Steel Mills or it was illegal loans of millions of rupees given to the directors of Punjab Bank.

He said that appointment of Deedar Shah was a slap on the face of justice and a crude attempt to hide corruption. He said that President Zardari had given the responsibility of provision of justice of 170 million people to such a controversial person who remained People Party MPA twice.

He said that there was a need for utilising national resources honestly and judiciously for transforming Pakistan in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the programme of distribution of Watan Cards among flood affected people. He also inquired about the problems of the flood victims and issued instructions for their solution.

Talking to the calamity-stricken people, the Chief Minister said that flood had caused a loss of billions of rupees to the provincial economy but Punjab government had not lost courage and every effort would be made for their rehabilitation.

He said that he and his colleagues would continue to supervise efforts for the rehabilitation of the flood victims and will visit them again and again. Local MPA Waris Kaloo in his speech said that destiny of the country could be changed if all leaders followed the example of the Chief Minister Punjab regarding the service of the people.

He said that if Shahbaz Sharif had not monitored safety arrangements at Jinnah Barrage for three consecutive days, Mianwali, Bhakkar and Khushab districts would have been inundated.
