On the fourth day of the worst air crash in the country's history, the investigators on Saturday succeeded in recovering the black box and the cockpit voice recorder of the ill-fated plane that crashed into Margalla Hills on Wednesday. The black box would help unveil the cause of the plane crash. The black box would be sent to France for decoding of the data, Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik said.

He confirmed that the investigators have recovered the black box and the cockpit voice recorder and after completion of the investigation, facts will be made public. Talking to media after visiting the flood-hit areas, Rehman said the black box and the cockpit voice recorder was found from the debris of the plane and the investigators will use the retrieved data from the equipment to find the exact cause of the crash. The nation should show patience, as the government will bring all the facts before it after completion of the investigation, Malik said.

Junaid Ameen, Director General, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said the black box and cockpit voice recorder have been found from the wreckage of the plane strewn all over the Margalla Hills. Junaid Ameen said both the boxes would be sent to France or Germany to retrieve the data. The truth will be unveiled on the conclusion of investigations, he added. The investigators are hoping that the flight data recorder will provide valuable clues about the crash.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ramzan Sajid said the black box and the flight recorder have been recovered from the debris of the plane. He said the CAA authorities have taken the equipment in their custody and it will be handed over to the investigation team headed by Air Commodore Khawaja Abdul Majeed, Chairman Safety Investigation of the CAA. He said he did not know about the condition of the equipment and the CAA experts could better comment on it.
