Mian Rashid Hussein, the lone son of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein, was gunned down by armed assailants in his native town Pabbi, on Saturday. Mian Rashid and his cousin Mian Amjad alias Jadoon were walking along the railway track when two armed men riding motorcycle targeted them near Mohallah Khan Sher Ghari, killing Mian Rashid Hussein on the spot while injuring Mian Amjad critically.

Deceased Mian Rashid Hussein was Deputy Director in Peshawar Development Authority (PDA). Mian Amjad Hussein was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment. Police immediately cordoned off the area and arrested four suspects. The news of the killing of Mian Rashid spread like wild fire and hundreds of residents of Pabbi and ANP workers reached Pabbi Emergency Satellite Complex.

The body of the deceased was shifted to his house and a large number of people included federal, provincial ministers and ANP office-bearers reached the residence of Mian Iftikhar Hussein. The central president of ANP, Asfandyar Wali Khan has condemned the killing of the son of Mian Iftikhar terming it as an open act of terrorism.
