Governor Punjab Salman Taseer on Sunday discussed the law and order situation of the province with the Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik. Malik informed Taseer the federal government has taken all possible steps to improve the law and order situation and have made foolproof security arrangements to protect the lives and properties of its people.

Sources said the two leaders also discussed the security situation of Southern Punjab where terrorists are believed to have a stronghold, which poses a serious threat to not only Punjab but also the entire country. The two leaders underlined the need of having a better co-ordination between the centre and provinces as well as the spy agencies, sources said.
