The board of directors of Atlas Bank Limited with the permission of the State Bank of Pakistan, appointed Husain Lawai as the President and CEO of Atlas Bank Limited effective July 7, 2010. According to Atlas Bank announcement this is the first step towards a planned merger of Atlas Bank Limited and Arif Habib Bank Limited. Lawai brings with him over 40 years of banking experience.

In his previous assignments, Lawai worked as President and Chief Executive Officer of MCB Bank, Country General Manager Faysal Islamic Bank and Union Bank of Middle East. He also has to his credit the establishment of the Faysal Islamic Bank (now Faysal Bank Limited) in Pakistan, the first Sharia-compliant bank in the country. Lawai is an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.-PR
