Nepra has approved the increase in KESC tariff from 0.6 paisas to Rs 1.70, a private TV channel reported on Monday. The channel while quoting the Nepra notification further reported that increase in KESC tariff would be applied from period of July 2009 to March 2010. The increase will be added in the bills starting from December.

The hike is made in terms of fuel price adjustment. The new tariff will be applied to all consumers instead of lifeline consumers, the notification added.
