A scholar of Higher Education Commission (HEC) has won International Robot Outdoor Navigation Contest 2009, which was held at Gwangju, Korea. Yousuf Ali Khan, who is pursuing his studies under HECs' Project: "MS Level Training in Korean University/Industry" at Hanyang University, South Korea won the title.

The scholar attributed his success to HEC, saying, "the whole credit goes to the commission, which gave me the opportunity to study in S. Korea and a chance to participate in this competition." Up to 13 teams from Japan and China participated in the competition, which was organised by the Gwangju Technopart, Gwangju, Korea. Yousuf's team, comprising himself and Jung-eui Jung (Korea) made the best records and got the first prize.
