The EDO Revenue Hyderabad Syed Barkat Rizvi has said that education was the key to success and development of any nation, and it was the duty of each individual and educational organisation to work for better education to raising a better nation.

This he observed while addressing the Annual Sports Day of Behria Foundation School/College, Hyderabad, held at Wapda Sports Ground near Niaz Stadium Hyderabad, as the Chief Guest. The EDO said Behria Foundation was one of the best organisations in the country providing quality education, at affordable charges. He said that it was good omen that Behria Foundation is running its many schools and colleges in the interior Sindh where in addition to others, the children of middle class people were getting qualitative education.

It was our duty to return to young generation whatever we got from our elders in the form of education, he said adding that the teachers, parents and students, under their co-ordination, can enhance the standard of education.

Rizvi said government was spending huge amount and had doubled allocation (of funds) for the education sector to raise the educational standard and literacy rate. It was now up to all the stakeholders and civil society to be committed with the cause of better education, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Principle Behria Foundation College Lieutenant Cdr Aziz Ellahi Ansari (Retd) said that 9 years ago, the Beharia Foundation established a college at Gulistan Sajjad with the enrolment of 50 students and now, it has an enrolment of 400 students, in addition to 200 students at Behria School Qasimabad and 100 students at its Latifabad Campus.

He assured that the organisation has competent teaching faculty and is delivering quality education. He further said sports play vital role in mental and physical health of students, and the organisation was organising an annual sports day, in addition to other extra curricular activities.

Earlier, the students of Behria Foundation College Gulistan-e-Sajjad and its Qasimabad and Latifabad Campuses presented tableau, performed march past and sports events such as 100 meter race, relay race, long jump, triple jump, shot put throw, javelin throw, tug of war, cricket, foot ball and table tennis. The Chief Guest EDO Revenue Syed Barkat Rizvi presented shields, certificates to the winner and runner up teams and other individuals, on their performances.
