Train drivers have threatened to resign en bloc if the Railways did not provide the necessary safety facilities to them in trains. The loco-running staff (firemen and drivers) on Friday staged a demonstration at Multan Cantonment Railway Station.

Divisional President of All Pakistan Loco-running Staff Association (APLSA) Mustajab Khan and other told newsmen that they has decided to tender their resignation/pre-mature retirement on February I, 2010 throughout the country. Earlier, they said, they would present a charter of demand to General Manager Railway on January 30(tomorrow).

"If he did not redress our grievances then we would go further," they added. At least 65 train drivers of Khanewal have decided to get en bloc retirement as a protest and they will tender their resignations to General Manager Railway on February I, on the call of Railway Loco running staff.
