Provincial Law Minister, Rana Sana Ullah presented 'The Punjab Power Development Board (PPDB) Bill 2010' in Punjab Assembly here on Friday, which was referred to Standing Committee for vetting. In the House, Speaker Azad Kashmir Assembly, Shah Ghulam Qadir made a visit during the session. The entire assembly welcomed him amidst wide clapping.

In the pre-budget session in the House Ahmed Mahmood Qureshi legislator of Functional League raised voice of making new provinces. Waris Kaloo, MPA on the stance made observation that raising such issues would not be welcomed by him and he walked out of the House in protest.

Later on he came back in the assembly on request of the Speaker. Dilating in the House Ahmed Mahmood Qureshi said that his demand was based due to long standing injustice meted to them. He said that it would be better if budget money would be allocated to the nine divisions equally and added that legislators of the area should be consulted district wise on the development and funding.

He said advice should be sought on health and education sector from the concerned legislators of the districts. The MPA said that excess financial gains should be spent on agriculture sector, which would increase resources of the Province in a short time. The Functional League MPA further asked to improve sanitation of the Province on the occasion. He said Rs 200 billion earmarked for the development of Punjab should be used in a visionary manner.

In the House MPA Khawja Islam on a Point of Order stated that in a recent programme of a TV Channel 'Hasb-e- Hal' a person alleged Law Minister Rana Sanaullah of harsh treatment. The Minister denying the allegation in the House stated that on a tour of Faisalabad by the CM Punjab, he heard the accuser and ordered a report in which no allegation was proved against him.

MPA Mohsin Laghari averring on the allegation said it was made in a humorous programme, which should not be taken seriously. He further said that he was amazed that when undue remarks on them were made in the previous regime, no such allegation of media bias was alleged. He said he was amazed by allegations of bipartisan attitude on media at present.

He said present Law Minister in the previous assembly criticised even his elders and made objectionable remarks on them. He said nobody then objected to that. On this former Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khosa apologised from the MPA and said that he should forgive him for these utterances as a big brother.

In the Assembly female MPA's Samia Amjad and Sajida Mir criticising on the issue alleged that one-sided media campaign was done even in the previous regime tenure and then no body objected to that. Dost Muhammad Khosa averring further on the point of independence of media said that unless media was free, democracy would not be able to survive. Khosa added that media while keeping its independence should refrain from personal and defamatory remarks.

In the House Chair Rana Mushood stated that media should show government performance in a better way. He stressed upon the parliamentarians to show better parliamentary behaviour towards each other.

In the Assembly MPA Sheikh Allaudin said that private channels should be allowed to cover the session. Rana Sanaullah on this remarked that, he had already given his views to the Speaker. MPA Qasim Zia and former Leader of the Opposition speaking in the House stated that legislators should avoid personal criticism of each other.

Punjab Law Minister earlier answering a query on Home Department said that 2220 driving licenses were issued in Lahore on monthly basis. In another question the Minister said there was no child protection and Welfare Bureau in Kasur nor funds were received under this head. The Law Minister responding to a question by a legislator said there were three woman police stations in the Province at present. The Chair later adjourned the House for Monday.
