Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader and former deputy speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Jaffar Iqbal has said that the PML-N would raise voice at every forum for the restoration of 1973 constitution and supremacy of the parliament.

Addressing a party gathering at Lahore Cantt. on Friday, the PML-N leader said that abrogation of 17th amendment was necessary for the survival and stability of the democratic system. Due to non-implementation of the Charter of Democracy, the popularity graph of government fell down and despite perpetual failures rulers had not given up their non-serious attitude.

He said the people should not be made victim of wrong decisions of the rulers, however, the PML-N is determined to save the democratic system. Jaffar Iqbal said that the people of four provinces on the platform of PML-N offered great sacrifices for the restoration of democracy; therefore, any onslaught on it would be foiled.

'If our national institutions under their powers work, no power of the world could stop making Pakistan a strong democratic and economic power,' he said. PML-N Overseas central Secretary General Sheikh Kaiser Mehmood has said that the court's decision should be implemented in letter and spirit for strengthening of democracy.
