"The President has said that the conspiracy of the pen won't kill us."

"Whatever did he mean?"

"Well, the general perception is that he was referring to the detailed Supreme Court judgement."

"But if we recall the case of his father-in-law Z A Bhutto, which I believe the President did refer to in his speech, then we are agreed that he was murdered by the judiciary right? So the judiciary or the conspiracy of the pen did kill him."

"Well, as the President has said repeatedly he is a student of history which means he is still enrolled in a course and has not yet received the degree."

"You are being facetious."

"No, if I was being facetious then I would have cited the history of Humpty Dumpty who our President informed us had sat on a wall but fell down..."

"Did he fall down because of the conspiracy of the pen?"

"No Humpty Dumpty was simply clumsy. I would like to take this opportunity to refer to past misdemeanours of the judiciary, the army as well as the PML (N) leadership..."

"But that is the past."

"Justice follows a crime having been committed and not the other way round. So if Zardari is to receive justice for his past then so must all the others."

"I agree wholeheartedly, but cases against the others - be they generals, members of the senior judiciary, politicians or indeed media moguls - must be prepared by the government."

"I don't think that is likely. If Babar Awan will take thirty days simply to file review of a judgement of the Supreme Court then can you imagine how long he would take to prepare cases against the guilty."

"May I suggest he take one general, one member of the serving superior judiciary, one member of the PML (N), one member of the media and one member of his own government and proceed to prepare a case against them, surely that is doable."

"Looking at his recent history, I doubt it."

"There is that misunderstood world history again."
