To a question he said that he got positive response from three big leaders of Taliban to initiate talks however there was no response from the government. "It is so as the government did not get any NOC from the United States on this issue", he said.
He strongly condemned the attitude of Indian Premier League (IPL) towards Pakistani cricketers and said that they did this to damage the image of our country and demoralise young talented players. "It is insulting for the whole nation. The IPL insulted our cricketers but our leadership remained silent", he said.
"The people who have no knowledge of the game are occupying the higher positions in the Pakistan Cricket Board. They have been appointed by the President of Pakistan who himself is unaware of cricket," he maintained. Khan claimed that whatever happened to the Pakistani cricketers in India is because of weak Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management.
He said that Pakistan was the only country that was blessed with talented cricketers, but due to the wrong policies of our leaders these players were not getting proper exposure. The players were not selected on merit. It was need of the hour to make selection criteria reliable, he added. He expressed concern over the increase in the number of drone attacks and the presence of Black water in the country. To a question, he said that Parliamentary standing committee has nothing to do with the sports.
He said that PTI would fight the election for vacant seat of National Assembly NA 55 with full zeal. To a question regarding Dr Aafia he said that she could only be released if our leaders take her case seriously with the US government. "But how can they do it when they are being fed by the US", he added. Khan urged the government to strengthen the institutions to take the country in a right direction and to provide justice to its people.
