The Taiwan dollar pulled back from the previous session's three-week closing low to end stronger on Thursday, as exporters took advantage of its relatively weak value to get rid of their US dollar holdings. The local currency ended stronger at T$31.919 to the US dollar, with volume hitting $831 million compared with the previous session's $1 billion.

"Exporters dominated much of the session," said a dealer. "Many of them were waiting to enter the market at about T$31.950, and so the bulk of today's volume was done by them."
