Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Dr Farooq Sattar, handed over a cheque of five lac rupees and a allotment letter of a plot in OPF Valley Zone V, Islamabad to the family of late Farman Ali, a gallant Pakistani who sacrificed his life while saving the lives of the people in November last year flash-floods in Saudi Arabia.

Late Farman Ali was a symbol of gallantry and courage and the whole nation is proud of him, the minister said on the occasion. He has earned laurels for his family and his homeland by sacrificing his life for a noble cause, added the minister. Farman Ali 32, a resident of District Swat of NWFP, worked in a grocery shop in Saudi Arabia.

He saved 14 persons and was trying to save the 15th person when the water swept him away. Farman Ali, a Pakistani karate champion who saved the lives of 14 people in the November 25 flashfloods in Saudi Arabia before drowning while trying to save another. In a telephonic conversation with Mahboob Ali, Farman's brother, the Minister termed late Farman Ali as national hero and appreciated his bravery and gallantry.-PR
