While sharing his experiences as a judge in YLES 2009 he said that he was impressed with the new and innovative ideas and this year his organisation is a sponsor of this mega event. He also said that AKD always supported the ideas of the young students and it is the continuation of their objective to support the young talent all over Pakistan. He said that the logic of AKD behind launching the Venture Capital Company was to encourage the young entrepreneurs, which was a good experience.
While Chief Executive of the Zafar Moti Capital Securities, Zafar Moti delivered a lecture on An Insight into the Stock Market in which he educate the students about the real working of the stock market and practically educate the students about how the young students and entrepreneurs can utilise their little savings by investing in the stock market.
The exciting event of the third day was Business Idea Competition (BIC). This event encourages students to come up with business plans that reflect real opportunities in the real world. In order to foster a sense of entrepreneurship and develop critical skills such as evaluating opportunities, creating marketing plans, preparing financial statements, leading a team and pitching to investors. BIC was followed by the final round of Social Enterprise Challenge. With the purpose of resolving issues of ecological, economic and social sustainability through entrepreneurial ventures the delegates presented their ideas to the judges.
Senior bureaucrat Auria Maqbool Jan, Director Akhuat Dr Amjad Saqib, Chairperson CARE Seema Aziz, Portfolio Associate of Acumen Fund Pakistan on housing and energy Ali Amerzad and Portfolio Associate of Acumen Fund on Agriculture and Health Noor Sheikh-ullah were the judges on the occasion.
Being in line with the concept of "Sustainopreneurship" the delegates set out to find and come up with solutions to these sustainability related problems. During the workshop session a LUMS graduate Usman Bhatti spoke on "Deal Making" while Omar Saif delivered a lecture on " How to Build next Google in Pakistan".
