  • Comments Off on Judiciary has been politicised: Asma Jahangir
Prominent lawyer and former Chairperson of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Asma Jahangir on Thursday said judiciary has been politicised and there should be a difference between activism and adventurism. Speaking at Aaj News programme 'Live with Talat' Asma said no one can bring back money from Swiss banks, adding that the government has already spent billions of rupees on Swiss cases and will have to spend more on reopening the cases.

On a question whether the present judiciary had been politicised, she replied: "I am afraid it is." Asma said the government should implement the judgement of the apex court on the NRO in letter and spirit. However, if the government could not do so, it is likely that there would be confrontation between the pillars of the State. Talking about the review petition filed by the government, she said it was the right of the aggrieved party to file review petition, however, there is little hope that this petition will get through.
