NWFP Minister for Zakat, Haji Zarshed Khan Advocate has urged upon the concerned authorities of Zakat department to accelerate their efforts for transparent distribution of Zakat money so as to ensure that the recipients were the deserved people. He was speaking to the District Zakat officers in a meeting convened to apprise himself of the distribution of Zakat across the province. Zakat officers from Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur and Batagram districts attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed matters relating to distribution of Zakat funds allocated during the current financial year (2009-10) and arrangements made in this regard. The District Zakat Officer Mansehra presented viable suggestions and recommendations for further improvement in Zakat system in the province with which the meeting agreed.

The meeting, on this occasion also reviewed arrangements for distribution of Zakat amounts to the deserved students of universities, colleges, schools and seminaries in the province and asked for on-the-spot inspection of the matter so that no one could be deprived of the genuine rights.
