Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued notice to Sindh Home Secretary, Sindh IG Police, Capital City Police Officer Karachi, City Nazim Karachi and AG Sindh on petition seeking home department's take over of Command and Control System of City District Government Karachi.

A division bench, comprising Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi, issued notice on petition filed by Jamaat-i-Islami Karachi Amir Mohammad Hussain Mehanti, challenging CDGK powers to set up and operate close circuit camera's network in Karachi. He cited Sindh Home Secretary, IG Police Sindh, City Nazim Karachi, CCPO Karachi and in-charge CDGK Command and Control System as respondents.

Counsel submitted due to lack of direct control over command and control system, federal and provincial law enforcement agencies had failed to identify culprits involved in May 12, December 27, April 9, and Ashura day blast followed by arson and other incidents. SHC division bench after preliminary hearing issued notice to Sindh Home Secretary, IG Police Sindh, CCPO Karachi, City Nazim Karachi, In-Charge CDGK Command & Control System & Advocate General Sindh for a date to be fixed by office.
