PARIS STOCKS EXCHANGE: The CAC-40 index closed at 4009.67 points, up 32.21 or 0.81 percent.
ZURICH STOCKS EXCHANGE: The Swiss market index closed at 6633.86 points, up 30.08 or 0.46 percent.
MILAN STOCKS EXCHANGE: The FT IT All Share index closed at 24139.73 points, up 186.25 or 0.78 percent.
SYDNEY STOCKS EXCHANGE: Australian stocks fell 1.0 percent on profit-taking in bank shares after two straight days of gains and on investor caution ahead of the corporate earnings season. The S&P/ASX 200 index fell 49.9 points, to 4,861.2, after rising 0.2 percent on Monday.
JOHANNESBURG STOCKS EXCHANGE: South African stocks ended barely changed as investors balanced disappointing US earnings and the surging price of platinum, while the rand held firm despite a weaker euro. The All-share index slipped 0.05 percent, or just 13.04 points, to 28,086.66 points. The All Gold index closed at 2382.95 points, down 12.00 or 0.5 percent, the Industrial index closed at 21321.46 points, down 72.20 or 0.34 percent.
