While presiding over a meeting of committee to finalise strategy for pro-poor initiative of the Punjab Government here Monday, Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa said that inclusion of young graduates in this scheme will not only help increase the production through the promotion of modern technology but this step will also bring a revolution in agriculture sector.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Senator Pervez Rasheed, Chief Secretary Javaid Mehmood, SMBR, Secretary Information, Member Colony besides other high-ranking officials of the government. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa said that with the distribution of government lands, agri-graduates will not only get employment but they will also play their effective role for the development of agriculture sector and other farmers of the area will benefit from their experience and knowledge.
He said that the policy which has been evolved for the distribution of government lands, expired leases and encroached government lands would also be implemented in a very transparent manner. He said that the landless farmers will not only earn their livelihood through these lands, but also play important role for strengthening the agri-economy.
Further, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa also presided over another meeting of the committee regarding delegation of powers. The meeting decided to delegate the posting/transfer powers of the education, health and livestock departments to the administrative secretaries concerned and the recommendations are being sent to the Chief Minister Punjab for approval in this regard. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Secretaries Agriculture, Services, Regulations Wing and high-ranking officials of Education, Livestock and Finance Departments.
