As per the weekly schedule of gas load management, the CNG stations remained closed on the second consecutive day on Monday in NWFP including Provincial Capital. As a result of closure of CNG stations, the motorists continued to suffer and long queues of vehicles were witnessed at different gas stations of the provincial capital. The motorists were forced to use petrol as alternative source of fuel.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, Junaid, a taxi driver said that he was compelled to use petrol due to non-availability of CNG that had added to his financial burden. Moreover, the commuters complained that rickshaw and taxi drivers had enhanced travel charges due to closure of CNG stations that multiplied the woes of the people.

According to the official of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL), strict action would be taken against the violators of the gas load management and for this purpose raiding teams have been set up for Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera and Mardan.

Meanwhile, the domestic consumers have complained that despite the closure of CNG stations the gas pressure has not increased and their problems remain intact without any sign of improvement. They said that due to low gas pressure the domestic consumers could not carry out their routine affairs and were facing immense problems in cooking and other daily affairs. People held an appeal to SNGPL to improve gas pressure for the domestic consumers and mitigate their sufferings.
