RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained upward trend and further improved its value by 10-paisa on buying side and 20-paisa on selling side against the greenback in the local currency market on Saturday. According to the currency dealers, the dollar remained under selling pressure and slide down against the rupee. The dollar resumed trading at overnight closing and kept on declining during the day's trading. At the end of trading, the dollar was ended at Rs 85.20 and Rs 85.50 as its buying and selling rates against the Friday's closing of Rs 85.30 and Rs 85.70, respectively, the dealers said.
Likewise, the rupee continued rising trend and further strengthened against the British pound. The pound's buying and selling rates were declined to Rs 137.30 and Rs 138.00, as compared to previous closing of Rs 137.50 and Rs 138.30, respectively, the dealers said.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Saturday. The dollar resumed trading at Rs 85.00 (buying) and Rs 85.10 (selling) against the last rate. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 85.00 (buying) and Rs 85.10 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 137.90 (buying) and Rs 138.00 (selling) against the previous rate. It did not witness any change in the evening session and closed at Rs 137.90 (buying) and Rs 138.00 (selling).
