The course has been launched at Information Service Academy by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Media University. Director General PBC said Radio Pakistan is going through a positive change to come up to the expectations of people and in line with the requirements of ever changing media scenario. He said we are gradually moving to implement the concept of community broadcasts and as a first step Radio Pakistan Islamabad has been converted into a model station for community broadcasts.
Murtaza Solangi said Radio Pakistan is actively contributing to the cherished goal of peace and national harmony. It is playing an effective role in fight against terrorism and extremism and forging unity and cohesion among different segments of society. DG PBC welcomed announcement by the Minister for Information and Broadcasting declaring 2010 as the year of development and revival of Radio.
He said PBC has a treasure of rare recordings of music, drama, features and speeches of prominent personalities in its archives. This rare recording of about two million minutes is being digitised. After completion of this process it would be marketed for the benefit of the people. A music show was also organised on the occasion which was broadcast live by MW and FM stations of Radio Pakistan. The music show was also carried by private FM Channels Power-99 & Music Highway-92 from their different stations.
