Grip of cold weather loosened in the provincial capital Saturday yet the Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasted more cold and dry weather for Punjab, in next few days. As per the met office, mercury in Lahore increased, bringing down the cold. Maximum temperature recorded was 19 Celsius degrees while minimum was 4 Celsius degrees.

According to synoptic situation prevailing over Pakistan, continental air is likely to prevail over most parts of the country during the next few days. However, a westerly wave is likely to move across the northern areas from January 17 (today) and will remain so the next 48 hours. Under these circumstances, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of country.
