He was speaking as chief guest at the launching of a book and a documentary film on the 4-year performance of Hyderabad District Government. The ceremony was also addressed by District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil, Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Jam Madad Ali, Law Minister Ayaz Soomro, City Nazim Mustafa Kamal, Provincial Ministers Raza Haroon and Dr Saghir Ahmed and President HCCI Abdul Aziz Arain.
The ceremony was attended, among others, by Haq Parast Provincial and Federal Ministers and people belonging to various walks of life besides MNAs and MPAs. Governor Sindh paid tributes to District Nazim Hyderabad and his entire team for their service to Hyderabad City and said that a visible change can be seen in Hyderabad.
He said a city, which had been sinking four years back, was brought up on the soil and made a developed city. He pointed out that in Sindh there are two major political parties-PPP and MQM and ANP besides other parties in the opposition, are committed to the development of Sindh, which is a good omen for the province and hopefully this journey of development will continue.
Speaking on the occasion District Nazim Hyderabad, Kanwar Navid Jamil informed that Haq Parast leadership completed 1398 projects costing Rs 16.02 billion last year, which included schemes of health, education and other sectors. "We implemented schemes not only of our share during the last 4 years but also completed the schemes of the past 50 years".
Kanwar Jamil informed that besides improvements in the health sector, establishment of 8 hospitals, preparation of master plan and digital information system, 508 schemes in the road sector, 556 schemes in education sector, 148 schemes in health sector, 40 schemes of parks and playgrounds and hundreds of schemes of sanitation, sewerage etc were implemented.
Law Minister Ayaz Soomro appreciated the book containing development performance of District Government in Hyderabad and said this city used to be ignored in the past but the way the Haq Parast leadership carried out development works in the last 4 years deserved appreciation for Altaf Hussain and his team.
Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Khan Ghauri said that in the past the prime ministers and chief ministers from Sindh paid no attention on Sindh and if Haq Parast should have had these 62 years, the entire Sindh would have been reflective of development.
