President Asif Ali Zardari has said he was not discharging his responsibilities as President with his eyes closed. "I am watching with an eagle eye every move of the thief and conspirator." Addressing the stock distribution ceremony under Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme here Saturday, he said local body elections would make it clear which party had the public support.

He urged the people of Punjab to remain patient, in this regard. President averred he knew how to foil conspiracies through politics. President Zardari said Pakistan belonged to the poor people. If giving rights to the labourers was a sin, then he was proud of that. He said he bears every criticism for the people of Pakistan.

"We have to fight the terrorists, because factories are being closed in Pakhtunkhwa because of them," added that only a bunch of people was carrying out the terrorist activities in the country. He stressed the democratic powers should work together as it was the need of the current situation.
