A senator who's just visited Pakistan says Pakistan's military may be considering a move into the militant stronghold of North Waziristan. Sen. Joe Lieberman says the Pakistani army is on the move and there's a possibility the US will see activity in that volatile northern region.

Lieberman, an independent from Connecticut, and Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain recently met with military chief, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.

Pakistani leaders have said they will send the military into any area where they feel the government's authority is challenged. They have not specifically outlined any future operations. Lieberman appeared on CNN's ``State of the Union.'
