Government has cut the prices of petroleum products up to Rs 2.12 per litre in line with the reduction in global oil prices effective from January 1, 2010. Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has also notified price of E-10 gasoline by Rs 62.61 per litre following the directions of Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet.

ECC in its meeting held on December 17, had directed Ogra to notify price of E-10 gasoline within three days. According to a notification by Ogra issued here on Thursday, government reduced the price of petrol by Rs 89 paisa per litre, HOBC Rs 1.09 per litre, kerosene oil Rs 1.88 per litre, Light Diesel Oil (LDO) Rs 2.12 per litre, JP-1 Rs 1.56 per litre, JP-4, 41 paisa per litre and JP-8 Rs 1.36 per litre.

After the reduction in oil prices, new prices of petroleum products will follow as; petrol Rs 65.11 per litre, HOBC Rs 79.43 per litre, kerosene oil Rs 60.75 per litre, LDO Rs 58.10 per litre, JP-1 Rs 50.50 per litre, JP-4, 49.61 per litre and Rs 50.43 per litre JP-8. Government will continue charging PL by Rs 10 per litre on petrol, Rs 14 per litre on HOBC, Rs 6 per litre on kerosene oil, Rs 3 per litre on LDO. Ogra has also notified Rs 10.88 per litre PL on E-10 gasoline for direct sale to consumers by oil companies.
