Muhammad Yousef Khan Leghari, Advocate General Sindh and Khalid Javed are among the most likely nominees for the slot of Attorney General of Pakistan. Well-placed sources in the Law Ministry told Business Recorder that a summary containing some names for the post of Attorney General had been sent to President Asif Ali Zardari and Yousef Leghari topped the list.

Leghari is also a retired judge of Sindh High Court. He is said to be a close friend of President Zardari. When contacted, Law Minister Babar Awan told Business Recorder that discussions between President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani were in progress and the vacant slot would be filled with mutual understanding of the two leaders within a week. Awan, however, denied giving any particular name.
