Terming the Indian announcement of withdrawing 30,000 troops from Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as "cosmetic measure" Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit on Sunday said the long-standing dispute needs to be resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions and the Kashmiris' aspirations.

"This is not the first time India has made this announcement. Important is to repeal black laws, stop oppression of Kashmiris and resolve the dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and Kashmiris aspirations", the Spokesman said while commenting on the reports of Indian announcement to withdraw 30,000 troops from occupied Kashmir "Cosmetic measures have neither worked in the past nor will work in future," he said.
