Former Ameer of the Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan and veteran leader Mian Tufial Muhammad who breathed his last on Thursday evening was laid to rest at the Karim Block Allama Iqbal Town graveyard on Friday afternoon. The Namaze Jannaza of the seasoned politician and life long companion of Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maudoodi, founder of the Jamaat -e-Islami was held at the Mansoora lawns after Friday prayers.

Former Ameer of the JI Qazi Hussain Ahmed led the funeral prayers. Thousands of JI workers, leaders of JI from all the provinces and political leaders and delegations of all the religious and political parties besides people from all walks of life joined the funeral.

Prominent among those who attended the funeral prayers were former President, Rafiq Ahmed Tarar, JI Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan , JUI (F) central leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, JI Azad Kashmir Chief Abdul Rashid Turabi, JI NWFP Ameer Siraju-Haq , JI Sindh Amerr Asad-ullah-Bhutto, Chief of Muttahida Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin, Secretary Information Punjab Shoaib- bin-Aziz, labour leader Khurshid Ahmed. Veteran journalists, Majeed Nizami, Senior journalist, Mustafa Sadiq and Mujibur Rehman Shami were also present on the occasion.
