Bullish sentiments dominated on the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) and the equities registered gains across the board amid ascending transaction volume on account of institutional support which made selective buying in oil and banking sectors.

The LSE index jumped by 81.53 points and closed at 1,711.84 against the overnight closing of 1,630.53 while trading turnover also showed significant improvement of 6.903 million shares to 16.004 million as compared to 9.101 million shares traded on Tuesday.

The oil companies like PSO, PPL, Shell Pak and Pak Oil Fields attracted fresh buying while MCB Bank, Habib Bank and National Bank, from the banking sector, and the fertiliser shares including Engro Chemical and Fauji Fertiliser also helped market stay in green zone.
