Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) has organised a one-week training course on "Coloured Gemstone Grading" here from Monday at Skill Development Council. This course is being held for the first time in Islamabad with a prime objective of providing proper understanding of coloured gemstones with respect to their grading, pricing and evaluation.

Coloured gemstone grading course is being attended by twenty five participants from gems and jewellery sector. This training course would conclude on February 28. Ilyas Ali Shah, a PGJDC Gemologist, is the instructor for this training course.

PGJDC official said that this course is being arranged for the participants who have already attended the training course on "Gemstone Identification" held at Geo Sciences Laboratories of Pakistan, Islamabad.

He said "We take pride in launching the Coloured Gemstone Grading course for the first time in Islamabad. He said that we have been arranging such training for the development of the sector so that it could play its due role in increasing the productivity in the industry and the Jewellery exports from Pakistan.

He said that PGJDC is committed to create sound base for the Gems and Jewellery sector of Pakistan by conducting different training courses to create awareness about latest gems and jewellery trends and technology being used by the international markets.
