Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday formally declared the "uncontested" victory of 11 candidates from Sindh province in the March 4th Senate Elections.

According to a notification issued by Secretary ECP Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad from Islamabad Babar Khan Ghauri, Abdul Haseeb Khan and Shirala Malik of MQM and Moula Baksh Chandio, Islamuddin Shaikh, Gul Muhammad Lot, Syed Faisal Raza Abidi, Khatu Mal, Almas Parveen, Farooq Hamid Naek and A Rehman Malik of PPP had "returned uncontested to the Senate of Pakistan against seven general, two women and two technocrats seats. It said under the would-be senators would replace their predecessors in the Upper House whose term would expire on March 11, 2009 under Clause (3) of Article 59 of the Constitution.
