Republican Senator John McCain will visit Pakistan and Afghanistan and meet with their top leadership to discuss United State's relations with the two countries and co-operation in meeting security challenges in the region. In his first post-election press conference, the senator said he would meet with the Pakistani leaders including the President and the Prime Minister to discuss co-operative efforts.

"And of course, we know we face significant challenges in Afghanistan, which I think almost all of us are in agreement will require increased US presence, Nato participation, and obviously also, we'll be visiting Pakistan to discuss with the Pakistani government, the president, and the prime minister, - the state of our relations with Afghanistan and how we can work more closely together," he said in Phoenix in his home state of Arizona.
