"The most successful financial institutions in the past year have been those that moved quickly to distance themselves from the fallout of the crisis, as well as those lucky enough to be located in fast growing emerging markets remote from the epicenter", said a spokesman for the financial publication.
Global Finance identified best banks in 118 countries. In selecting this year's winners, financial institutions were judged on various factors including growth in assets, profitability, geographic reach, new business development and product innovation.
The award was received by HBL Chairman, Sultan Ali Allana. "Our objective is to contribute towards the development of sustainable economies in countries where we operate," said Allana. He congratulated the HBL management for their commitment and thanked the bank's customers for their continued support.
