As many as 47 people including 25 militants and 22 civilians were killed on Thursday during the ongoing military operation in Swat valley, Aaj TV reported. According to the channel, law enforcement agencies are carrying out second phase of the operation, titled as 'Rah-e-Haq,' in restive Swat Valley.

A mortar round missed its target in Tehsil Kabal of Swat and hit a house, killing seven members of the same family, including two children and a woman. Another round of mortar missed its target in the Sakai area of the same Tehsil and hit a house killing six of another family. Army helicopters opened fire on militants hideouts and killed 22 Taliban/militants in Tehsil Matta, Kabal, Badgram and Lunday areas of the valley.

Taliban spokesman has claimed through FM Radio of killing a number of security personnel in the clashes, however, DG ISPR rejected the claim. Meanwhile, miscreants burnt two girls' primary schools in Malam Jabba and Char Bagh of Swat, TV channel added.
