President Pervez Musharraf will be attending the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics on August 8 at the invitation of Chinese government. The President will hold meeting with Chinese leadership, including President Hu Jintao, says a Foreign Office statement.

China has made all the preparations for the Beijing Olympics for security and convenience of the spectators. The theme of Beijing Olympics, "One world one dream" reflects the essence of Olympics spirit - unity, friendship, progress, harmony and participation.

Pakistan was honoured to host the Olympic torch relay when it passed through Islamabad. This was an outstanding success. Both President and the Prime Minister attended the ceremony. Pakistan's sports contingent consists of 35 members, who will participate, in the events of hockey, athletics, shooting and swimming.
