A high level delegation of Indian Border Security Force led by Deputy Inspector General Brigadier N D Parsad along with 13 members arrived at Khokhrapar on May 29 to hold a quarterly Border Meeting on issues relating to security along Pakistan-India border.

The Indian delegation was received by Deputy Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Brigadier Syed Khushnood Hussain along with other senior Ranger officials. On this occasion smartly-turned out contingent of Rangers presented guard of honour.

It was followed by a detailed meeting between the two sides, which lasted for nearly six hours in which matters pertaining to joint patrolling along the border, defence construction, issues of inadvertent border crossers and border demarcation at certain disputed points were discussed.

It is pertinent to mention that this was a routine meeting between the border guarding officials of both the countries, which is held after every three months alternately in India and Pakistan respectively.

The meeting was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere. At the end of the meeting Deputy Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Brigadier Syed Khushnood Hussain arid Deputy Inspector General Brigadier N D Parsad expressed their optimism that such meetings would pave the way for good neighbourly relations between the two countries and contribute towards peace and prosperity in the region at large. The meeting was also attended by civil officials of narcotics and survey departments of both the countries.-PR
